Darjeeling 1st flush SFTGFOPI ‘Oaks’ Organic
An exceptional tea….delicate with a delectable apple-like flavour and a yellow gold cup. With an aroma of sea breezes and the crisp, light flavour of fresh apples, jasmine and honey. It also has that wonderful astringency that we associate with first flushes leaving a sparkle on the palate. Harvested in early April this tea is less fermented than most blacks and the leaves are mainly greeny brown. Known for all the right reasons, as the ‘champagne of teas’ this is perfect afternoon tea.
Origin: Oaks Estate, Darjeeling, India. The Oaks tea plantation is located at an altitude of 1600m. The plantation only cultivates the Chinese tea bush (Camellia sinensis var. sinensis) which is grown in organic conditions.
Brew: 1 teaspoon per cup for 3-4mins in 100° water. Best sipped black but will take a slice of lemon
